International Museum of the Reformation
The International Museum of the Reformation retraces the history of the Reformation movement initiated by John Calvin. Through objects, books, manuscripts, paintings, engravings and state-of-the-art audio-visuals, the museum recounts the epic history of a movement that was born in Geneva in the 16th century and became one of the main families of Christianity. The museum is located on Cour Saint-Pierre in the prestigious Maison Mallet. This historic dwelling was built during the 18th century on the site of the cathedral cloisters where the Reformation was voted in 1536. An underground passageway connects the museum to the archaeological site under the Saint-Pierre cathedral and its towers, these three sites constitue a new cultural attraction in Geneva: Espace Saint-Pierre. |
